William Dennis “Denny” Zazalak, 71, of Brandon, Manitoba, passed away on October 8, 2026, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, surrounded by family and friends. Born on September 17, 1955, in Elkhorn, Manitoba, and known to most as Bill, he lived a life shaped by hard work, humor, and a deep love for his family. A hands‑on man who could fix or build just about anything, he filled his home with stories, laughter, and a warmth that made everyone feel welcome.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Zazalak, and his children: Alyssa Davis (Jody), Kaylee Brown (Emelio), Taleah Alexander (Shawn), Lisa McPherson, Cathy McPherson Malowski (Jason), William “BJ” Zazalak
He is also survived by his brothers, Robert “Bob” Zazalak and John Zazalak, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Betty Zazulak; his brothers, Fred Zazalak and Jimmy Zazalak; and his sister, Melody Zazalak. He kept close ties with his extended family and friends—countless aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones who were, in every sense, his family.
Bill lived a life defined by his hands, his humor, and his heart. Whether working on home renovations, cooking, gardening, fishing, hunting, or camping, he was happiest when working with his hands and sharing the results with the people he loved. He had a gift for storytelling—jokes and tales that wandered just long enough before delivering a punchline you never saw coming.
Tea time was all the time, and the kitchen table was the heart of his home. You’d often find him there with a pot of tea, playing his favorite iPad games, and ready with a smile, a story, and always a treat. He loved card games—cribbage, backgammon, and Skip‑Bo—and 70s and 80s music.
Bill was a colorful man—full of emotion, life, and presence. He felt deeply, loved fiercely, and lived honestly. He wasn't perfect, and he never pretended to be, but was always there when you needed him.
A private memorial for close friends and family will be held at a later date.
