William Donald Prysunka also known as Bill passed away at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon on January 6, 2024 at the age of 88.

Bill was the only child born to Nick and Anne Prysunka in Brandon on March 30, 1935.

He attended school at Earl Oxford and ACC.

Bill had two children Raymond and Dianne with previous wife Maxine. He started working at CP Rail in 1953 as a fireman, brakeman then engineer until his retirement in 1992. Bill was proud to be the last local employee to serve as fireman in the age of steam locomotives. He would often work side jobs painting, welding or would travel with the Royal American shows working in the casino. He always loved the thrill of gambling. Bill played in many poker tournaments in Belcort and in Las Vegas. He often bet on racehorses and eventually owned one at the Assiniboia Downs.

Bill enjoyed his daily coffee group and VLT time at the Keystone.

Bill loved gardening and would always have the earliest red tomatoes. He would always share his harvest with friends and family.

Bill will be missed by his daughter Dianne, son in law Dave, grandson Darren(Kena), and special friend Helen.

Bill was predeceased by his son Ray in December 2023.

A service will be held for both Bill and Ray Prysunka on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 1:00p.m. Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North Brandon, Manitoba.
