Obituary

William James (Bill) McCreath passed away in Brandon on Saturday, December 5, 1998, following a short illness with cancer. Bill was born September 17, 1928 in Broomhill, Manitoba to Cy McCreath and Margaret Grierson. His childhood was spent in Broomhill and later Melita. He came to Brandon to reside in 1953. His main career was a brewery representative for Carling O'Keefe. In recent years, he pursued his hobby of owning and loving big cars. Bill is survived by his wife Eleanor, his son and daughter-in-law, two daughters, two sons-in-law and six precious grandchildren: Bob, Sharon, Pamela and Derek McCreath of Neepawa; Marie, Brian, Nicole and Janelle Wotton of Brandon; Lisa, Len, Mike and Julie Alfred of Selkirk. Also surviving Bill are: his mother-in-law, Elsie Carnahan, brother-in-law Gordon (Pearl) Carnahan, his aunt, Emerald Grierson all of Brandon plus many special Grierson cousins. The ceremony to celebrate Bill's Life was held at the United Commercial Travelers Hall, 530 Richmond Ave. East on Wednesday, December 9, 1998 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. John Nesbitt officiated. Pallbearers were: Lloyd McDonald, John Brownridge, Ed Nicolls, Steve Romanik, Keith Vinthers and Ray Martin. Interment was in the Alexander cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends may make a donation in memory of Bill to a charity of choice. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Memorials
