Obituary

KENDRICK: The death of William A. "Bill" Kendrick of Brandon, beloved husband of Vera and dear father of Gail and Dwain, occurred at his residence, Fairview Home, on Wednesday, November 16, 2005. A time of visitation will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, on Monday, November 21, 2005 from 7:30 - 8:30 pm. The Graveside Ceremony will be held at the Reston Cemetery on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at 11:00 am. Following the Graveside Ceremony family and friends are invited to a time of fellowship at Memories Chapel from 2:00-3:30 pm. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Bill to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 3-824-18th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 5B7 or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba-Westman Region, 437-9th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 4A9 or to a charity of choice. KENDRICK: William A. "Bill" Kendrick formerly of Lions Manor in Brandon passed away at his residence, Fairview Home, on Wednesday, November 16, 2005. Bill was born in Reston, Manitoba on December 18, 1915, the son of Albert and Christine Kendrick. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the Dublin School Division. In 1942, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces until 1945 and served in Europe. Bill worked for MacArthurs and as a city bus driver. He retired in 1975, after 22 years with the Liquor Control Commission. Bill was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #3 for many years. He loved to maintain his vehicles, inside and out, fishing, camping, and his flowers provided many hours of enjoyment. Bill spent a great deal of time with family and friends and will be dearly missed. He always enjoyed the 7th Anti Tank Regiment Reunions from coast to coast. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Vera; sister, Vera Campbell of Virden; son, Dwain (Betty) of Whtyewold, MB; and daughter, Gail (Norman) Rusk of Brandon. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Tracy of Kamloops, Kim (Dawson Creek), Lisa (Winnipeg), Dean (Calgary), Heather (Kelly of Winnipeg); and great grandchildren, Justin (Kamloops), Kate and Will (Winnipeg) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Christine; brothers, Lloyd Kendrick and Graham Kendrick; sisters, Florence Younger, Jean Lebal and Lillian Moore. The Graveside Ceremony was held at the Reston Cemetery on Tuesday, November 22, 2005. Susan Potter of Deloraine officiated. Urn Bearer was son, Dwain. A special thank you to the staff at Fairview Home for the care and compassion shown to Dad during his time there.
