KARASHOWSKY: The death of William "Bill" Karashowsky, beloved husband of Sonya, loving father to Dan and Paul, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, September 20, 2006. The Funeral Service will be held at Central United Church, 327-8th Street on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 1:00pm. The Very Rev. Fr. Michael Skrumeda will officiate, assisted by Rev. Fr. Alexander Harkavyi. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Complete obituary information will follow. KARASHOWSKY: With much sadness we announce the passing of William "Bill" Karashowsky after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the age of 80 years. Bill is survived by his loving wife Sonya; sons Dan (Susan) and Paul (Nelia); sisters Olga Martin, Elsie Nimetz, Nadia Schlegal; brothers Walter, Eugene, and Bohdan Karashowsky; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Anastasia and brothers: John, Russell, Paul, and Mike. Bill was born on August 3, 1926 in Leduc, Alberta where he was raised. After many years of traveling throughout the country while in the sales field, he finally settled in Brandon in 1954. Bill worked for Sunlife of Canada for 48 years with many accomplishments. He was a member of Kiwanis, Toastmasters and an avid member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Holy Ghost in Brandon. Bill will always be remembered for his amazing attitude and courageous outlook on life, he always inspired everyone around him especially his sons. He will also be remembered for how he faced each day with faith and hope and the strength not to burden the people around him. The family would like to thank Dr. Davloor, Dr. Dhalla, and the Homecare and Palliative Care nurses at the Brandon Regional Health Centre for all their help, care, and kindness. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at Central United Church. Celebrants were the Very Rev. Fr. Michael Skrumeda, assisted by Rev. Fr. Alexander Harkavyi. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dan and Paul Karashowsky, Mac and Michael Marchenski, Russ Tuer, and Antonio Sousa. Flowers are gratefully declined.
