HUNTER: William Walker "Bill" Hunter born on March 21, 1927, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his residence at the Wawanesa Personal Care Home. He was the first born to Arthur and Janie Hunter of the Chesley district. Bill attended Hunter and Chesley schools after which he farmed with his dad and brother, Gordon. They grew grain and raised farm animals, their specialty being pigs. They showed at numerous fairs and took home many trophies and ribbons to show for their work. Bill enjoyed sports both as a participant and spectator. His favorite team was the Riverside Canucks (whom he followed to tournaments and league play). Bill loved playing games like crokinole, cards and dominoes. He was never one to complain but went about his farm work willingly and was always ready to give a helping hand. The family is more than pleased with the care Bill received at the Personal Care Home in Wawanesa, his home for the past six years and thanks to Dr. Lee and Vicki for their attention. Bill will be sadly missed by his brother, Gordon and sisters, Muriel and Doreen and their families. The Funeral Ceremony was held at Memories Chapel on Friday, November 8, 2013. Shirley McBurney officiated. Interment followed at the Brandon cemetery. Friends and family who wish may make a donation in Bill's memory to the Wawanesa Personal Care Home, Box 309, Wawanesa, MB R0K 2G0.
