Obituary

The death of William Geiler occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on June 6, 2001. Bill was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on February 18, 1927. He came to Brandon to live when his father formed the Manitoba Motor Transit, September 5, 1933. Bill then became a caretaker at Manitoba Public Insurance in 1978 and retired in 1992. Bill grew up amid cars, trucks and buses, so driving became a major part of his life. He enjoyed golfing and fishing with his good friend, Bruce. He enjoyed many hours reading his newspapers and paperbacks. Bill was a member of the United Commercial Travelers and the Kinsmen Club. He is survived: by his wife Jackie of 53 years, his son Phil of Brandon, daughters, Linda (Barry) Church of Brandon and Nancy (Jeff) Beal of Lethbridge, AB. Grandchildren: Jonathon and Debbie Church, Lonnie, Jeffrey and Jud Beal and great grandson Joel Church. Bill was predeceased: by his parents, Ann and Phil Geiler, by a brother, Peter and sisters, Bridget Graham and Lee Roberts. As per Bill's request there will be no funeral. Interment was in the Brandon Cemetery with immediate family attending. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st Street, Brandon, R7A 2W8. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330. Loved dearly and sadly missed.
