The death of William John Free occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, December 13, 2001. Bill was born on May 9, 1914 in Neelin, Manitoba, son of John and Alma Free. He spent his early years at Mountainside, receiving his education at Deloraine and then moved to the farm at Arden in the mid 1930's. He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers during World War II. Bill earned his trade Qualification as a Carpenter during his service and worked as a carpenter until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, baseball and especially spending time with his family. Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Eileen, daughters, Eileen (Wayne) Morice; Linda Free; Rita Free; and Joanne (Wojciech) Wozniak; sons, Jim (Gerry) Free; Bob (Sandra) Free; and Brett Free. There are 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. His sister, Peg Snelgrove also survives. He was pre-deceased by his parents, John and Alma Free; brothers, Tom, Ben and Harry; and sister, Kathleen. A private family Ceremony was held at Memories Chapel on Tuesday, December 18, 2001. Rev.
