Obituary

DINSDALE: William Frank. The family of Bill Dinsdale sadly announce his passing on Sunday, September 3, 2000 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Bill was born October 31, 1923 in Brandon and spent his lifetime here except for his years of service overseas. He was a 53 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #3. Bill began his life filled with music. As a youth, he spent time with the Salvation Army playing many instruments in several and varied groups. He played his saxophones until his last brief illness. Bill leaves to mourn his wife Jean; son Ed of Brandon; son Bill of Toronto, ON; daughter Marie (Dave) of Yorkshire, England; son Terry (Deb) of Kelowna, BC; and daughter Lynda (Lyle) of Brandon. There are six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law: Mildred Dinsdale and Ivy Dinsdale; numerous special nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters: Queenie, Evelyn, Irene and Mary; and brothers: Jack, George, Charlie and Jim. At Bill's request, cremation will take place. A private family interment will be held at the Veteran's Section of the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined and if friends so desire, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
