Benson: William Irwin "Bill" Benson. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of Bill on Monday, January 3, 2005. He left peacefully with his family by his side. Bill will be sadly missed by his loving wife Norma; his daughters, Tammy (Arnold) Jameson, and Theresa (Mike) Jolliffe; four grandchildren he dearly loved, Byran and Warren Jameson, Christopher and Kirsten Jolliffe; and sister Lynn (Bob) Howard. He also leaves to mourn his passing his brothers-in-law, Rick (Louise) Bailey; Barry (Maryann) Bailey; sisters-in-law, Rose Taylor, Lorraine (Ken) Ingram, Lynda (Wally) Johnston, Freda Kadeschuck, and Lorraine Bailey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dad had many close friends through his life and most cherished are Louise Begyn, Linda and Ron Shand, Mary-Ann and Pat Everett, June and Doug Stanley, Diane and Roy Gareau, Denise and Dale Foster, Michelle and Laurie Biggs, Norma and Gordie Gadsby, and Susan and Gary Demare. Dad was predeceased by his very good long time friend, Marcel Begyn; his mother and father-in-law, Muriel and Norm Nevins; brothers-in-law, Sid Bailey and Ted Bailey. Dad was born on March 8, 1938. He was employed with Purolator Courier for many years. He had met many good friends during his employment. Dad had a very strong commitment to his family. That is what he cherished the most. He was quick with his sense of humour and always there to help out. He loved joking and teasing with his grandchildren, and enjoyed many summer outings at the lake or in the pool with them. Dad had many talents. There was nothing he could not build or fix. He spent a lot of hours helping his friend and family with this talent. This is what he enjoyed. A time of fellowship and reflection was held at Memories Chapel on Thursday, January 6th, 2005. A private burial was held on Friday, January 7th, 2005. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Bill to the Sun Fund for Kids, c/o Brandon Sun, 501 Rosser Avenue, Brandon, MB R7A 0K4 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Thank you to all who helped us through this most difficult time.

Don't lengthen it now with undue grief;
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee;
God wanted me now; He set me free."Memorials
