The death of William Bayak, of 61 Durum Drive, beloved husband of Stephanie, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Friday, July 20, 2001. William Bayak was born at Winnipegosis, Manitoba on February 20, 1912, son of Frederick and Marie Bayak. He received his early education in Winnipegosis and technical training in Chicago, Illinois. On October 10, 1936, he married Stephanie Pasklav. Together, Bill and Stephanie operated numerous retail dry goods and grocery stores in various towns throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba over the years.. Besides his wife Stephanie, he is also survived by his three children: daughters; Catherine (Joseph) Metz, Nadine (John) Melnyk and son, Richard Bayak. There are five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Bill was predeceased by his parents, a brother John and a sister, Ann Melnyck. A time of visitation and prayers will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Monday, July 23, 2001 from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Memories Chapel on Tuesday, July 24, 2001 at 10:30 am. The Very Rev. Fr. John A Melnyk will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date at the Alto Rest Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta. Flowers are gratefully declined.
