Obituary

The death of Willard Joseph Lamirande of Brandon occurred Friday, October 5, 2001 at his residence. Willard was born on February 2, 1944 to Chief Eddie and Jean Lamirande at Duck Bay, Manitoba. He was raised and received his education in Duck Bay. Willard worked as a housing inspector for the Manitoba Metis Federation. One of his favourite things to do was spend time with his grandchildren. Willard is survived by his wife, Valerie; sons, Lennie (Debbie) their children, Stephanie and Kaillie; and Eddie (friend Michelle) his children, Dylan and McKenzie; close family members, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Chief Eddie and his mother, Jean, one brother and one sister. The Ceremony of Christian Burial was held at Memories Chapel, 330 ~ 18th Street North, Brandon on Wednesday, October 10, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Fr. Leo Fernandes of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church officiated. Urn bearer was Ernie Klyne, Willard's brother-in-law. Interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Willard may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 824 ~ 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 5B7 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Westman Region, B, 727 ~ 10th Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 4G7. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
