SHAPPERT: Winnie Shappert, born October 29, 1903 in Prior Lake, Minnesota, youngest daughter of Rhinald Haas and Anna Schneider passed away peacefully in her home with her beloved son Kenneth and granddaughter Valerie at her side on Tuesday, June 20, 2000. Winnie was married to Henry Shappert on December 3, 1928 and to this union three children were born Marjorie Anne, Kenneth Gordon, and Marion Kathleen. Winnie and Henry lived in various places in the prairie provinces where Henry was employed with C.P.R. Winnie loved her family. Gardening, flowers, crafts, her dogs, birds, cards, puzzles, BINGO, and sports gave her great pleasure. In her younger years "Gran" loved to camp and fish becoming a Master Angler in 1970. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Henry in 1961; all of her brothers and sisters; and daughter Marjorie in 1981. She will be sadly missed by her son Kenneth; daughter Marion; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. A graveside service was held Saturday, June 24, 2000 at the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
