Wendy Mae Sime

March 22, 1964 – November 2, 2023

With family by her side, Wendy Mae Sime, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre.

Wendy was born on March 22, 1964, in Dauphin, MB, the first of three siblings. Wendy grew up in rural Rice Lake, MB. Her love for animals started at an early age as she had to take care of them while completing the typical country life chores. Wendy loved horseback riding and barrel racing in her adolescence. Wendy enjoyed the country life, but eventually heard the call of the city and moved to Winnipeg in the early 90's. Wendy obtained her Doctor's Office Assistant certification in 1991. She found employment within this field but decided that she wanted to work with children. Wendy found employment with Child & Family Services as a group home support worker. She did this for thirteen years. Wendy took exceptional care of all the children that came into her care. She treated them with immense compassion, took care of them and gave them all the love and attention they needed.

Wendy moved from Winnipeg MB to Edmonton AB in 2005 where she worked at a Spa. Wendy enjoyed the change of scenery in AB, but once she became a grandma, she wanted to ensure she was close by to be with her grandchildren, daughter, and family. Wendy moved back to Brandon in 2009.
Wendy continued in her career as a helper. She found employment as a health care aide. Her last place of employment where she worked for the last decade was Dinsdale Personal Care home, where co-workers quickly became her second family. Wendy was very passionate about her career and cared greatly for her residents and co-workers alike.

Wendy loved music, movies, and TV shows and spending time with her grandchildren. She wanted to be at every event and celebration that she could be, as long as her grandchildren were there.

Wendy is survived by her mother Diane Gabrielle, father Steve Chipney, daughter Laura Sime, son-in-law Juan Bolanos, sister Cheryl (Dennis) Routhier, brother Steve "Zig" Chipney, grandchildren Dominick & Kaydence Sime and Aneesa & Ztayveea Bolanos; stepbrother Mark Gabrielle, stepsister Michelle Gabrielle, stepfather Gary Gabrielle.

Additionally, Wendy leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
The family of Wendy also wants to give recognition to Yves Corrideau, her very special companion.
