Obituary

ANDERSON: It is with much sadness that we, the family of Wayne Anderson, announce his sudden passing on March 30, 2008. Wayne was born in Shoal Lake, Manitoba on July 6, 1948. Wayne attended school at Shoal Lake and spent much of his early adolescent and teen years living in that area. He moved to Brandon in 1977, where he met and married Carolyn in September 1979. Their son Chad, their pride and joy, was born in 1985. Over the years he was employed by several trucking companies and in 2002, he established his own trucking business. His love for trucking prevailed throughout the years. Through his travels he touched the lives of many who respected him. A quote from a card his family received read "Wayne was a perfectionist in an imperfect world who attained a degree of professionalism rarely seen in the trucking industry. He maintained his truck and trailer in meticulous condition. Wayne and Chad serviced, cleaned, and maintained both his truck and trailer weekly. Thus, obtained over one million miles on semi engines several times. Safety was high on his list of priorities. Over the years he received many Safe Driving Awards. Wayne's sense of humor, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need will always be remembered. Wayne was generous with the little time he sometimes had at home. He helped organize, prepare food, collected and contributed gifts for silent auctions for many benefit socials for friends in need. Wayne cared about the little things most people overlooked which made it easy for many to call him a friend. Friends, of which he had many, would often stop by to visit with him. Wayne had a great love for animals, especially their two cats - "Smokey" and "George". Wayne could often been seen in the open field behind their house, walking George on his leash with Smokey in hot pursuit. The love and concern shown by Wayne for his family will always be a constant loving reminder of him. Wayne will be missed by his wife, Carolyn; son Chad; parents Tom and Muriel Anderson of Virden, Manitoba; sisters Deane Elder, her son Brad Elder of Red Deer, Alberta, and Debbie Freeman (Brian Kitson) of Brandon; brother Allie Anderson of Winnipeg, Manitoba and aunt Ila Brown of Shoal Lake, Manitoba. Wayne was predeceased by his grandparents; niece Jennifer and nephew Tommy. The Funeral Ceremony was held at Memories Chapel, on Friday, April 4, 2008 with Joanne Biggs officiating. Honorary bearers were those all in attendance. Urn bearer was Chad Anderson. A private interment followed in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Wayne may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family wishes to send a sincere thank you to friends, relatives, and neighbors who sent flowers, food, cards, words of encouragement and support through visitation, during such a sad time of loss in our loves. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements are with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
