WEIR: Walter Everett Weir, 66 years, passed away on September 3, 2010 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Walter was born October 8, 1943 at Russell, Manitoba, the son of William and Hazel Weir. He was raised at Russell and received his education there. Numerous jobs throughout his life included: farming, working at a drycleaners, mining, mechanics, tire shop and lastly long distance trucking. He enjoyed being on the road as a semi driver but loved to come home and spend time with his grandchildren. Walter belonged to the Kinsmen organization in Russell. Walter is survived by: his wife Linda; daughter Tracy Mears; son David (Maxine) Weir; daughter Crystal (David) Dyck and seven grandchildren. He also leaves; brother, Wes (Gladys) Weir, and sisters; Dorothy (Jim) Quigley and Ethel Zurvell and families. Also surviving is extended family: Daeglen J. Angus, Linda Grace Adolph, son Robert L. Angus, daughter Catherine L. Angus as well as several nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by his parents, brother-in-law Mikel Zurvell, niece Verina Zurvell as well as other half-brothers and half-sisters. In keeping with Walter's wishes cremation has taken place.
