Obituary

Walter Tegg, beloved husband of Beatrice, passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, February 22, 2001 at the age of 83 years. Walter was a long time resident of the North Hill, except for a few years following his retirement in 1977. Walter worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway for 37 years in the running trades, retiring as an engineer. He was a good carpenter and took pleasure in building and fixing things for family and friends. His father was his closest companion. Left to cherish Walter's memory are his wife, Beatrice of 54 years, daughter, Delores (Pat), son, Eric (Julie), grandchildren, Nancy Barnes and Kristi and Jeffery Tegg, all of Edmonton, Alberta. Also surviving are sisters, Viola, Grace, Tracy, Virginia, Vera (Jack), brother, Fred (Margaret), sisters-in-law, Marian Tegg, Dorothy Tegg, Isabelle Humeston and Joyce Stewart, brother-in-law Ian (Norma) Cork) and many nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Clarence and Carl and sister, Victoria. The Ceremony to Celebrate Walter's Life was held at Memories Chapel on Friday, March 2, 2001. The Rev. Garry MacDowall of St. Mary's Anglican Church officiated. Cremation has taken place. There was a private family interment service following the Ceremony. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Walter may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415 - 1st Street, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 2W8 or to a Charity of Choice.
