Walter T. Cann passed away at his residence, Hillcrest Place Nursing Home, Brandon on Wednesday, September 22, 1999 in his 96th year. Walter was born on October 28, 1903 in Hartland, Devon, England and immigrated to Canada in 1924. He worked for several farmers in the Minto area before purchasing his own farm in Justice in 1948. Walter married Dora Raymer of Brandon on January 11, 1941 and they farmed at Justice for several years. They retired in Brandon in 1966. He was predeceased by his wife Dora in October 1981, one sister and seven brothers all of England. Walter is survived by one brother, George and his wife Eva, sister-in-law Gladys Cann in England as well as many nieces and nephews in England and Canada. The funeral service was held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Saturday, September 25, 1999 at 10:30 am. with Mona Franklin officiating. Interment followed in the Brandon cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews: Wayne Coukell, Eric Stewart, Dale Raymer, Greg Patterson, Eric Patterson and Earl Wood. Donations in memory of Walter may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
