Obituary

Vonda M. MacDearmid passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2000 at her residence, Central Park Lodge after a long illness. Vonda was born on September 22, 1934, the youngest of five children born to Garfield and Dorothy MacDearmid. She was raised in the east end of Brandon and spent her entire life there. She attended King George School, Earl Haig and the Brandon Collegiate. Vonda started her employment at the T. Eaton Co. in 1954, retiring in January 1996 after 42 years of service. She was predeceased by her parents, Garfield and Dorothy, by her brother, Glen, a sister Dorothy and niece Debbie. She is survived by her brothers: William (Isabel) and George (Luella) and their families. A graveside ceremony will be held at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Thursday, November 9, 2000 at 1:30 pm. A reception will follow at Memories Chapel. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation in memory of Vonda to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 42 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, R7A 2B2.
