CROWSTON: The death of Vivian May Crowston (nee Porter), beloved wife of Harry Crowston of Brandon, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, January 19, 2006. Arrangements are pending with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
CROWSTON: The death of Vivian May Crowston (nee Porter), beloved wife of Harry Crowston of Brandon, occurred at the Assiniboine Centre on Thursday, January 19, 2006. Vivian was born on May 12, 1933 in Minnedosa, Manitoba. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at the Basswood School. Vivian belonged to the beef 4-H Club and attended the United Church youth group. She attended Brandon University for one year, completing her Registered Nurse Program at the Dauphin Hospital. Vivian nursed at the Minnedosa District Hospital, Brandon Mental Hospital and the Brandon General Hospital. She belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion, Seniors for Seniors and was a life member of the Sokol Hall. Vivian enjoyed curling, bowling, golfing, knitting, cribbage, reading and traveling. She also completed post graduate studies in surgical operating and psychiatry. Vivian will be lovingly remembered by: her husband Harry; sister, Velma Segeberg; nephew, Mark Segeberg; niece, Donna Segeberg and their families. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred and Margaret Porter; brother, Wilbert and sister, Lillian Coate. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon on Monday, January 23, 2006 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Harvey Hurren of Knox United Church will officiate Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery.
