July 10, 1942 ~ August 3, 2002
Lori Meyers: It is with deep sadness that the family wishes to announce the passing of Mom, Victoria Lorraine Meyers. God's missing angel was found peacefully on August 3, 2002 in Regina, Saskatchewan, at the tender age of 60 years. Born on July 10, 1942 at Hamiota, Manitoba, she is the eldest of four children born to Alfred and Vera Gradwell of Shilo, Manitoba. She worked for the sheriff's department in Winnipeg from 1977 until her retirement in May, 2000, at which time she then enjoyed much traveling, various sporting events, like Blue Jays baseball, the Molson Indy, the Brickyard 400 and Toronto Raptors basketball. Lori was predeceased by; her dad Alfred, in 1984, and by her dear, mom, Vera, in Feb. 2000. She was a most beautiful person, inside and out; her beauty was her laughter and her love of life. Lori's life will continue to shine and be celebrated through her four children; Cori (John) of Edmonton, Darren (Nikki) of Toronto, Derrek (Lynnette) of Regina and Troy of Winnipeg. She cherished her four grandchildren; Dawn, J.T., Brandon and Kristina, and was excited about becoming a first time great-grandmother in November. Her sister, Tudie (Walter), and two brothers, Jim (Cathy) and Sam (Linda), all of Shilo, Manitoba, will forever hold their sister in their hearts. She was 'Aunt Lorraine' to Angella, Steven, Wayne, Bobby, Fara and Brent, as well as many more relatives that will miss her mischievous smile, her joy and zest for life. Funeral arrangements are in care of Speers Funeral Chapel in Regina. A memorial service and celebration of Mom's Life was held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon, MB on Monday, August 5th, 2002 at 2:00 pm. Mom will be laid to eternal rest with her Mom and Dad in Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Brandon. A special thank you to the many wonderful friends, family and doctors for making Mom's journey to God's Home a peaceful and dignified one. A donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Lori's memory in lieu of flowers is most appreciated by the family.
