It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Verna Anne Judd (Christie) on June 25, 2026 at the age of 89.
Verna was born on April 26, 1937, in Holland Manitoba. She lived a life defined by love, kindness, resilience and unwavering positive spirit. Despite the many obstacles she faced throughout her life she always remained positive, finding strength in her family and joy in life’s simple moments. Her courage, compassion, and gentle heart were an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Verna will always be remembered for her warm smile, the comfort of her hugs, the very best hugs, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She believed that family was life’s greatest blessing, and nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by those she loved.
Verna was formerly married to Lyle Judd, with whom she raised their family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Audrey and Albert Christie, her brother Gary Christie, and her special friend Ralph Ward.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Chuck (Judy) Judd, Brian (Leanne) Judd, Greg (Christine) Judd and Lori (Allen) Grebinski.
She was a proud devoted grandmother to Lindsay (Darcy), Kerri, Britney (Kyle), Alecia (Mike), Tyler, Cody (Sydney), Stephanie (Logan), Dustin, and Dawson.
Her greatest joy continued through her great grandchildren: Jadyne, Jayce, Quinn, Demi, Brielle, Hudson, Sawyer, Harper, and Olivia.
She is also lovingly remembered by her dear cousin Muriel and Bob Kenyon, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Hillcrest Personal Care Home, where Mom received compassionate care for 12 years, and to the wonderful staff at Dinsdale Personal Care Home, who cared for her with kindness, dignity, and compassion during her last five years of her life.
A private family interment will be held prior to the fellowship.
The Judd family warmly invites relatives and friends to join them for a time of fellowship and refreshments to share memories and celebrate Verna’s life at the Brandon Shriners Club, 1110 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, on Thursday, July 9, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Bearers will be Tyler, Cody, Dawson, and Dustin.
All of Verna’s beloved grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Verna’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love, resilience, and gentle spirit will remain with us always. Her legacy lived on in the family she cherished, the lives she touched and the countless memories she leaves behind.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
