GROBB: The death of Velma Grobb of Fairview Home occurred in the city on Tuesday, December 21, 2004. The Ceremony to Celebrate Velma's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, on Monday, December 27, 2004 at 1:00 pm. Rev. Dale Woods of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will take place at the family plot in the Sparling Cemetery. Friends who wish to make a donation in memory of Velma may do so to the charity of their choice. GROBB: Velma Grobb of Fairview Home passed away at her residence on Tuesday, December 21st, 2004 at the age of 84 years. Velma was born on July 17th, 1920, at Moore Park, Manitoba. She married David Grobb on November 9th, 1946 and they farmed in the Justice district until Dave's death, following which Velma moved to Brandon. Velma was predeceased by: her parents, Donald and Ida Cleaver; husband David in 1996; twin sister Vera and her husband Earl Grobb; brothers Stewart and Harold Cleaver; brothers-in-law Edward Grobb and Jim Green and sister-in-law Beatrice Green. Velma will be greatly missed by: sons, Lyle (Sandra) and Bill (Beth); daughter Shirley Caswell; grandchildren Jacie and Mitchell Grobb, Alison and Jennica Grobb, and Arley and Jeff Caswell. She is also survived by: her sister Ella (Alex) Boyd; sisters-in-law Marie Cleaver and Mary Grobb; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Velma's life revolved around her family and the farm. Her hands were never idle. She enjoyed her garden, cooking in her kitchen, tending to her many plants, or knitting and crocheting. Many friends and relatives own cherished pieces of Velma's handiwork. Velma enjoyed curling, bingo, old time dances, and the many trips that she and Dave made to Europe, Hawaii, and throughout North America. The ceremony to celebrate Velma's life was held on Monday, December 27th, 2004 at Memories Chapel in Brandon, Manitoba. Rev. Dale Woods of First Presbyterian Church officiated. A very moving eulogy was given by Myrna Daviduk and Don Grobb, niece and nephew of Velma. Grandson Mitchell Grobb provided a violin tribute. Urn bearers were nephews Ken and Don Grobb. Interment took place in the family plot at Sparling Cemetery near Justice, Manitoba. Friends who wish to make a donation in memory of Velma may do so to the charity of their choice. We would like to thank all our family and friends for all the love and support, flowers, food and expressions of sympathy we received at the recent passing of our dear Mom, Velma Grobb. Also a heartfelt thanks to Dr Blythe and the Nurses and staff on 300 at Fairview for the care and love they gave to Mom. The kindness everyone showed will not be forgotten.
