Obituary

Thérèse Micheline Béasse (née Richer) passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, in Brandon, Manitoba at the age of 81. Thérèse was born in the family home in St. Jerome, Quebec on October 10, 1942, to her parents Annette & Ernest Richer. She grew up in a busy home with her four brothers, Marcel, Claude, Yvon, Fernand and sister Jeanine. The family began bible studies with one of Jehovah's Witnesses in about 1952 and they were all baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1953. Thérèse resolved to dedicate her life and serve her God Jehovah, and she did, just that, all throughout her life.

Thérèse's family had a body and paint shop at home where they repaired and painted vehicles and Thérèse worked at in her late teens. Thérèse was very good at sanding the cars because she was so patient and would take the time to do a good job. She also did the books for her dad for the body shop.

Around 1960, Thérèse met her future husband Albert Béasse and they were married December 14, 1963. Immediately after, they moved to Brandon, Manitoba where they remained and raised their family. When Thérèse moved to Brandon she did not know how to speak, read or write English. Thérèse loved country music, and she could sing all the country songs in English but didn't know what she was singing but with Alberts help and her strong determination she was able to learn how to read, write, and speak English.

Thérèse and Albert were blessed with three children, Sandra, Richard and Laura. Thérèse was a stay-at-home Mom and created a warm and loving home for her family. She loved to cook, garden and preserve what she grew. Thérèse was a very patient woman and had a soft and kind way with her children, grandchildren and anyone she met. She always had a warm smile for everyone she was with.

Thérèse was very hard working, never shying away from what needed to be done. She kept the family home running when Albert was away up north working for months at a time. She would make sure the children got to their activities. She would haul in the wood for the wood stove they used in the winter. She would haul water with the water truck herself when needed. When the work was done or Thérèse needed a break, a trip to the coffee shop was a regular part of her day.

Thérèse was also very creative and loved to sew and knit. Making clothes for her children sometimes and knitting sweaters or doll clothes and slippers. She loved to make cute little sweaters for her grandchildren when they came along. Thérèse was blessed with 6 grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She would attend as many of their activities as she could.

Thérèse went to sleep confident that she would share in the resurrection hope of John 5:28
"all those in the memorial tombs will hear Jesus' voice and come out".

Thérèse will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sandra (Matthew Donald), Richard Béasse, Laura (Kevin Cloet); brother Fernand (Deanna) Richer; grandchildren Danielle Donald (Rashid Banuga), Derek Donald (Courtney Clark), Amaya Béasse, Tyson Cloet, Breelyn Cloet, Kamryn Cloet; great granddaughter Safa Banuga and many nieces and nephews.

Thérèse was predeceased by her parents, her husband Albert, brothers Marcel, Claude and Yvon Richer; sister Jeanine Béasse and Lucie Richer.

A private graveside service will take place at the Chater Cemetery with Todd Gabler officiating.
