Steve was born on January 7, 1942 in Dauphin, Manitoba the seventh child of Stefan and Anna Peniuk. He started his education at Skala School before leaving to work on the family farm where he grew up near Ukraina, Manitoba. After obtaining both his gas fitter and plumber's license, Steve worked for Gulf Oil as a gas fitter. In 1986, he started Peniuk Plumbing and Heating, which he operated until September 2002 before retiring due to failing health. Steve enjoyed meeting and visiting with people from all walks of life. He considered his customers to be his friends. Steve valued his relationship with his creator Jehovah and felt privileged to be a small part of the construction and maintenance of the local and various Kingdom Halls throughout Manitoba. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family. Steve's children have many happy memories with him camping, horseback riding, and going to the farm.
