Obituary

Stephanie Bayak, widow of William Bayak, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, Brandon on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer. Stephanie was born in Lumsden, Saskatchewan on January 8, 1920, the daughter of the late Elarry and Elaine Pasklav. She received her education in Regina. She met William Bayak and they were married in Winnipegosis, Manitoba on October 10, 1936. They operated various general stores throughout, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. The Bayak's retired to Brandon in 1970. Stephanie enjoyed gardening, cooking and needlework. Her family was her most immediate concern. However, no argument was settled until she had the last word. Stephanie will be deeply missed by her three children; Catherine (Joseph) Metz, Nadine (John) Melnyk and Richard Bayak. She also leaves grandchildren; Larry (Michelle), Patricia (Blaine), Stephanie, Michael and Deanna and her beloved great grandchildren, Taylor, Rachel, Karen, Christopher, Alexandra, Sean, Scott and Tyler. Stephanie was predeceased by her husband, William on July 20, 2001. Funeral service and interment will take place in Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, December 23, 2002.
