Stena Louise Jaworski (nee Len) passed away in Brandon on Saturday, October 20, 2001 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Stena was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on August 19, 1946, the daughter of Stanley and Louise Len. She was raised on the family farm near Fone Hill, Saskatchewan. Stena attended elementary and high school in Yorkton. She continued her education and received a Bachelor of Education degree from The University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus. Stena spent her entire professional life teaching in the adult education field. The last 21 years at Assiniboine Community College in Brandon, Manitoba. Stena will always be remembered by anyone who knew her as a strong independent individual who loved her work, her family and her polish heritage. She had many personal interests including reading, gardening and above all cooking, especially for her family and friends. Stena was predeceased by her father, Stanley Len, brother, Walter Len, sisters, Eileen Maccan and Ann McMillan and an infant brother, Edward. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory her husband, Walter; sons, Craig (Angela); Drew; and step-son, Aaron and step-daughter, Chantele (Stovin); mother, Louise; brothers, John (Inga); Stan (Joanna); sisters, Jennie (Jim) Lang; and Karol Nault; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. As was her wish cremation has taken place. The Ceremony of Christian Burial was held at Memories Chapel on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 at 2:00 pm. Celebrant was Rev. Fr. Leo Fernandes. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Stena may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Cancer Research Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 2B7. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
