Sidney Thomas Fox
It saddens us to have to announce the loss of our dear father, Sidney “Sid” Fox, age 95, who passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Fairview Home.
Sid was born on November 4, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. The family moved and resided in the Leamington/Wheatley area. He later joined the army stationed at Shilo, MB. While there he met and married his soul mate “Bea” Dawabey Houssian. He was deployed to serve in Korea.
Upon returning to Brandon and after a few moves, they settled in Roseland where he farmed until the late 60’s. They relocated to Brandon where he worked for Macy’s Poultry farm. With Macy’s closure Dad and Mom moved to Airdrie, AB. One last moved brought them back to Brandon to retire.
All in all, he was a soldier, farmer, poultry producer, furniture maker but most importantly a husband and father.
Sid is survived by his children Bill (Lethbridge, AB), Donna (Brandon, MB), Alec (Airdrie, AB) and Reema (Yorkton, SK) and all of their partners and families including 28 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 6 great, great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Linda, and sister-in-law Shirley, both of Ontario, chosen extended family Brian and Sandy Macialek and their family members.
Predeceased by his wife of 73 years “Bea” Dawabey, (Sept. 2025), great granddaughter Lacey Joan, (June 2026), infant sons Stephen and Stanley and his brothers and sister.
Sid was dedicated to doing his family genealogy and grateful to the many newly found family members who were a part of that journey.
A time of visitation will take place at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Friday, July 10 from 11:30a.m. – 12:30p.m. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Brandon Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Sid may be made to a charity of your choice.
