BAILEY: Sidney (Sid) passed away suddenly and peacefully on May 25, 1999 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre with his family at his side. Sid was born June 21, 1937 in Bowsman, Manitoba, the eldest of nine children. He lived on the farm with his family until 1957 when he moved to Brandon and went to work for Barr's Transfer and operated construction equipment. He later was employed with Western Concrete as a truck driver. In 1967, he worked with the City of Brandon as an operator at the Water Treatment Plant and then was a chargehand at the City of Brandon Waste Water Treatment Plant until his retirement in 1997 at the age of 60. Sid was a kind, soft-hearted person who always liked to joke and tease with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather with a strong committment to his family. Sid loved gardening, yard work, shopping, and cooking. He met his wife Lorraine, the girl next door on First Street in Brandon, with a relationship that began 41 years ago and a marriage that lasted 37 years. They were blessed with 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Sid was predeceased by his father Norman Bailey in 1956. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Lorraine; children, Kevin (Cherie), Charlene (Brent), Derek, and grandchildren, Brad, Kim, and Jordan; grandmother, May Beadle; mother, Muriel Nevins (Norm); brothers: Ted, Rick (Louise), Barry (Maryann); sisters: Rose, Lorraine (Ken), Norma (Bill), Linda (Wally), Freda, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North on Saturday, May 29, 1999 with Father Barry Schoonbaert officiating. Interment was in the Brandon Cemetery. In memory of Sid, donations may be made to The Manitoba Lung Association, 42 McTavish Ave. E., Brandon, MB, R7A 2B2 or to a charity of choice.

Sidney (Sid) Ernest William Bailey, beloved husband of Lorraine, passed away peacefully and suddenly with his family at his side at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, May 25, 1999. A time of visitation will be held at the Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Friday (tonight), May 28, 1999 from 7:30 pm. to 8:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Chapel on Saturday, May 29, 1999 at 2:30 pm. Celebrant will be Fr. Barry Schoonbaert. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends may make a donation in memory of Sid to either the Manitoba Lung Association, 42 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, R7A 2B2 or to a charity of choice.
