LUCAS: After a courageous battle with cancer, Shirley Joan Lucas, beloved wife of Dave, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at the age of 63 years. Shirley was born in Debert, NS in 1941. Her heart fell for Dave and they were married in 1957. She traveled with Dave throughout Canada and Europe during Dave's military career and they finally settled in Sprucewoods, MB. Shirley's passions were her work (at the Canex, CFB Shilo from 1972 until her illness in 2004) and her love of reading. Shirley is survived by her husband Dave; daughter Susan (Ben) Banks; granddaughters, Melissa and Jennifer, of Alberta. She will also be sadly missed by her dear friends from Sprucewoods and Shilo area. A farewell to Celebrate Shirley's Life will be held at St. Barbara's Chapel, CFB Shilo, on Monday, October 25, 2004 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Barbara Jardine will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
