LEADER: Shirley Marie (nee Locke) passed away peacefully on March 26, 2008 in Brandon, in her 86th year. She is survived by her loving husband Harold "Scottie", her daughters Heather (Neville) Beck, Diane Curtis, son-in-law Clay Sholdice, grandchildren Richard, Shane (Kim), Karen (Anthony), Adrienne, Dana (Shane), Alissa (Steve), great-granddaughter Miara. She is also survived by her sisters Mildred MacKenzie and Feryne (Wally) Taylor. She was predeceased by her daughter Cheryl Sholdice and son-in-law Ken Curtis. Shirley was born and raised in Rossburn, Manitoba. She completed a Business Course, the Civil Service Exam and headed to Ottawa to work. In 1945, Shirley moved back to Winnipeg, where she met Scottie and they were married on September 21, 1945. Her career as a secretary consisted of working at various places such as Winnipeg Supply and Fuel, Swifts, Winnipeg School Division, Cumming and Dobbie, St. Paul's United Church and her husband's business, Leader's Driver Training School. Many of her fondest times were camping at Killarney, going to harness races, Hockey Booster dances and playing cards with all her friends. She never missed her favorite game shows or Nascar Races on T.V. Shirley enjoyed being a member of Co-Workers at First Church United, making ceramics, crocheting and knitting. She was a collector of spoons, decorator plates and newspaper clippings of all her family's accomplishments. She loved to watch the birds from her deck and had a soft spot for all the dogs in the family; especially her Peppi. She had an extraordinary memory of dates and events. She satisfied the whole family's sweet tooth with lots of baking and weekly homemade fudge night. Thank you to all her friends and family for all the cherished memories.
