HARDER: Shirley Evelyn Harder of Brandon, Manitoba passed away at the Assiniboine Centre on Wednesday, October 13, 1999. Shirley was born on January 8, 1940 in Elm Creek, Manitoba. She completed her education in Carmen, Manitoba. Shirley later was employed as an IBM Punch Key Operator for Manitoba Medical however considered her role as housewife and mother to be her first priority. She was a member of Richmond Park Mennonite Brethren Church and served with Youth for Christ as a Telefriend as a volunteer. Teaching Sunday School and her love for animals, especially her dog "Lifesaver", were only a few of the many things she enjoyed. Shirley will be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother who loved God and demonstrated a strong faith. Her sensitive, kind, and loving nature was expressed throughout her life. Shirley is survived by her husband Ed Harder; sons: Mark (Sylvia) and Jerry (Laurie); and daughter Cindy (Javier) Castillo; grandchildren: Gabriel and Noah Harder, Jordan and Benjamin Harder, Roman and Jasmin Castillo. She was predeceased by her father George Lubkwiski; brother Ronny Lubkwiski; and sister Pat Lubkwiski. Viewing will be held Friday, October 15,1999 between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North. Funeral Service will be held at Richmond Park Mennonite Brethren Church, 1525 - 26th Street, on Saturday, October 16, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. Rueben Willems and Dave Mickalishen will officiate. Pallbearers will be: Rudy and Esther Ewert, Andy and Marie Rudderham, and Richard and Frieda Klassen. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery.
