Sherry Lynn Sass passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre.
Sherry was born and raised in Thompson, Manitoba, to Laurie and Helen Stafford. Sherry had a full childhood with her family in Thompson and moved away upon graduating high school to pursue the next chapter of her life.
In the spring of 1994, Sherry met the love of her life, Jeff. They were married on September 27, 1997, and together built a life centered on love and family. Sherry and Jeff were blessed with two children, Jason, born in 2005, and Sydney, born in 2008.
Sherry had a deep love for adventure and cherished family vacations, especially trips to theme parks and water parks. While she worked at various times, her greatest priority was always her children. Sherry devoted herself fully to being present in their daily lives, getting them off to school each morning, ensuring she was home for lunchtime, and welcoming them home at the end of each day.
Creative and detail-oriented, Sherry had a keen eye for decorating and design. She was also a proud and dedicated hockey mom, managing multiple hockey teams, organizing tournaments, and becoming well known for her unforgettable music playlists that energized rinks and gatherings alike.
Sherry was a private person, yet always moved through life lifting others with her boundless love, energy and unwavering kindness. Her selflessness touched everyone she met, and her infectious laugh had a way of brightening even the heaviest days. She faced every moment with a positive outlook that inspired those around her, leaving a legacy of warmth, generosity, and happiness that will be deeply missed.
Sherry will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jeff; son Jason, daughter Sydney; mother, Helen; sister, Dian (Parker); Jarrett and Sara Sass; Jody Sass; and Marge and Jack Sass.
She was predeceased by her father, Laurie Stafford, in 2020.
