Sherril Johanne Hardy (nee Hodgson) of Alexander, beloved wife of Maurice Hardy, passed away at the Assiniboine Centre on Friday, November 7, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. Sherril's outlook on life was nothing but positive right to the end. Sherril was born in Hartney, Manitoba on January 14, 1942, daughter of John and Jean Hodgson. Sherril and Maurice dairy farmed in Hartney until 1980 and then settled in Alexander for the past seventeen years. Sherril worked at the Winnipeg House in Brandon as a cook for the past fifteen years. Her pride and joy was her family; she loved nature and had a real green thumb. She was really looking forward to retiring at the lake. Sherril is survived by her husband Maurice Hardy; son Chris (wife Carla and children, Maurice and Micheal); daughter, Michelle (husband John Dheilly); daughter, Elizabeth (husband Gary Harris and children Teegan and Brian); daughter, Suzanne (husband Dave O'Greysik and children Logan, Cole and Kody) She also leaves her mother, Jean Hodgson; sisters, Pat Agnew, Jackie Reid, Janice Kotler and brothers, Dave and Bill Hodgson. Sherril was predeceased by, her father, John Hodgson. The Ceremony to Celebrate Sherril's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 10:30 am. The Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood of Central United Church will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who wish may remember Sherril by making a donation to a charity of their choice.
