FOSTY: Shaunda Nicole, mother of Jessie, Santre, & Angel, daughter of Allan & Deanna Fosty of Virden, Manitoba, passed away suddenly in Brandon, Manitoba on October 23, 2007 at thirty-three years of age. Shaunda was born on May 13, 1974 at Virden Hospital. She grew up on a farm near Scarth, Manitoba. She attended Mary Montgomery, Virden Junior High, and Virden Collegiate Institute, and loved camping with the family in her younger years. She was competitive in sports, games, and enjoyed swimming in the pool. After leaving home, she lived and worked in Brandon until her death. She attended Brandon University for some time, and then settled in to raise her three children who meant more to her than anything else in the world. She enjoyed her work as a taxi driver for Tasmanian Taxi while getting to know some of her regular passengers, even learning a bit of Spanish so she could talk to them. She was always sharing a humorous story or joke with family and friends. She will be missed greatly by everyone whose life she touched. Shaunda leaves to mourn her three children, Jessie, Santre, & Angel; her special friend, Walter Mason; her parents, Allan & Deanna Fosty; sister Kim (Jeff) McAuley; nephews Matthew & Scott; sister Angie (Jason) Whittle; grandmother Florence Fosty and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Maternal grandparents, Abe and Helen Funk of Melita, and paternal grandfather Roger Fosty predeceased her. The Funeral Service was held at Memories Chapel, on Monday, October 29, 2007. Rev. Shannon McCarthy of Central United Church officiated. Interment followed at the Virden Cemetery with Rev. Jan Aertselaer officiating.
