Obituary

Ruth Agnes Kirkpatrick, (nee Staton), age 92 years, passed away peacefully at Hillcrest Place Nursing Home on August 9, 2002. Ruth will be sadly missed by, her beloved husband of 65 years, Wallace Caldwell Kirkpatrick, her loving daughter Merle Ruth McCubbin and grandson Ian of California and her son Barrie Wallace (Donna) Kirkpatrick and grandchildren, Ruth Hykawy, Shelley (Jason) Smith and Andrew (Theresa). There are six great grandchildren; Angelica, Richard, James, Jordan, Shaune and Michael. Ruth was born in Montreal, Quebec on July 30, 1910. During Ruth's Life, she was an active participant in the Karanak Ladies Auxilary of the Karanak Shrine in Montreal. Ruth and Wally helped build several churches in St. Laurent and Roxboro, Quebec. Ruth was an avid bridge player and was very active in the Glenmore and Westmount Curling Clubs. She loved to crochet, sew and read. Ruth also dabbled in oil painting. Many of her paintings adorn the family homes. Ruth loved her family and life. The Ceremony to Celebrate Ruth's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Thursday, August 15, 2002 at 2:30 pm. The Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood of Central United Church will officiate. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Ruth to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, #3, 824-18th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 5B7.
