Obituary

It is with sadness that the family of Ruby Eileen Eagle (Logan) announce her passing, just weeks before her 92nd birthday. Ruby passed on Monday, May 13, 2024, at Rideau Personal Care Home where she battled her aging body admirably. She was folded in the comfort of her family during her last days.

Ruby was born May 30, 1932, in Brandon MB. Ruby was the eldest and only daughter of Andrew and Grace Logan of Nesbitt.

Ruby is survived by her son Larry (Kelley) :Gus, Alyssa and her only great grandchild Burt; daughter Heather: Jamieson ,Jordan (Ksondra), Michael, Eileen.

Ruby was predeceased by her husband Don, brother Russel, nephew Darren, infant grandson Christopher.

She is survived also by her twin brothers Dale (Bev) Logan, Delbert (Joyce) Logan and numerous nephews.

Ruby's number one love was for her family, but the casinos were a close second.

Ruby loved growing up on the farm and would rather ride horses or tractors than do housework. Growing up she especially loved the horses.

Ruby was a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed the family life. They moved around a lot within Brandon as Don would build their home and sell the house, several times before it was even finished. The family enjoyed adventures to the lakes for fishing and a few trips across the country.

Ruby loved to travel and had a great memory for roads travelled and people she met. Ruby was very close to her extended family as well as her brothers. Ruby was nine years old when her twin brothers were born and she has mothered many generations since then.

She loved to dance especially square dancing and clogging, loved old time music especially fiddle music and Don would either have to get his dancing shoes on or sit at home.

Ruby loved the years that the family spent in the Carrol district where her and Don retired on a lovely acreage. Ruby loved to grow food in the gardens that they created and preserving food was one of her many talents. They also had some exotic birds entertaining them and the family had many laughs over the antics that they (the birds) got up to. Many good friends and neighbors were acquired there. Her and Don especially loved the years that they loaded up the motorhome and headed to Arizona to park on the desert. Many flea markets and casinos were their targets there. There would always be many treasures brought home for the children and grandchildren. Their lucky dog Badger would sit in between them on those trips and make sure that they were following the map correctly.

Ruby enjoyed living in town in their senior years where she could focus on fun and less on yard work and gardening. Ruby was a great cook and a hard worker. You could always find cookies or cakes when you stopped by to visit.

She enjoyed the years after she was widowed, living in Riverheights Terrace. Ruby kept in touch with a few family and friends through her whole life and was very sad to lose them one by one.
Ruby spent the last few years in Rideau Personal Care Home. She loved having her visitors, her tv and her chocolates.

She will be missed. Rest in peace, we love you.

A private family graveside will take place on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Carroll Cemetery with reception to follow at the Carroll Memorial Hall, #20, 6th Street, Carroll, MB at 3:00 p.m.
