Obituary

Roberta Lynn Gibbs passed away suddenly in the city on January 19, 2001. Roberta, daughter of Joyce and Robert Gibbs was born May 16, 1971 in Portage la Prairie. She was predeceased by her father Robert Gibbs, her grandparents Reg Gibbs and Daisy and Joe Wolchuk. Left to cherish her memory are: her soul mate, Jon Drinkwalter, step-daughters Alicia and Alison, her mother Joyce Gibbs, brother Joey (Joseph )Gibbs(Carrie), Alex and Tatiana; brother Brian Gibbs and grandmother, Jean Gibbs. She also leaves her "other mom" Linda Pinch; "bro" Larry Inkster (Lisa) and Triston; her "sister" Barb McIvor (Ken) , Matthew and Griffin; her mother-in-law, Isabelle Drinkwalter; sister-in-law Shauna Wright (James), Rhebecca, Kayla, Shane; sister-in-law Lori Lane, special friend/aunt Mary Pringle, special friend Mark Jones, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We will remember Roberta's mischievous celebration of life, her ability to love with her whole heart, her families, her friends and her pets, the vibrancy and spirit that radiated from her, even to the tips of her red hair. Roberta role modeled unending courage for all who knew her, as she moved through the many challanges, fears and tribulations of her illness. She drew every drop of living out of each experience that came her way; held it tight and shone. The Ceremony to Celebrate Roberta's Life will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at 2:00 pm. Lydia Glawson will officiate. All in attendance are considered honorary pallbearers. Family and friends will gather immediately after the service at the East End Community Centre, Victoria Avenue East and Park Street for a time of sharing and fellowship. Interment will take place at the High Bluff Cemetery at a later date. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Roberta to the Kidney Foundation, Westman Chapter, 103-42 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, R7A 2B2.
