Obituary

LEIFSO: The death of Robert Edward "Bob" Leifso of Killarney, Manitoba, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, October 30, 2005. Bob is survived by his three brothers and five sisters; Elmer, Edward, Kenneth, Florence (Gordon) Montgomery, Hilda (George) Wells, Rita (Lyle) Klindt, Mildred Kinsley, Gladys (William) De Yaegher. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 from 7:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 11:00 am. The Rev. Harvey Hurren will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Bob to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or to a charity of choice. LEIFSO: Robert Edward "Bob" Leifso of Killarney, Manitoba, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, October 30, 2005. Robert was born on November 8, 1921 in Verwood, Saskatchewan the son of Edward and Louise Leifso. He moved to Minto, Manitoba with the family in 1943. Robert did various odd jobs around the community and then moved with his parents to a farm south of Boissevain. He worked for 20 years at Dring's in Boissevain and also did some caretaking at the Hotel and worked at the abattoir in Boissevain. Later in Killarney he enjoyed shuttling cars for Tweed's. He lived at Croll with his sister Gladys and her husband, Willie and then moved with them to Minto in 1964. Robert lived in Killarney and helped his parents until their death and continued to live there until his recent illness and passing. Robert enjoyed his home and yard. He could often be seen working in his yard, polishing his van or spending time having coffee and visiting with friends at the Killarney Mall. Robert will be lovingly remembered by: his brothers, Elmer, Eddie (Vera) and Kenny (companion Elsie Harris); five sisters; Florence (Gordon) Montgomery, Hilda (George) Wells, Rita (Lyle) Klindt, Mildred Kinsley, Gladys (William) De Yaegher. There are several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward and Louise; brother-in-law, Charlie Kinsley; and sister-in-law, Helen Leifso. The Funeral Ceremony was held at Memories Chapel on Wednesday, November 2, 2005. The Rev. Harvey Hurren officiated. Pallbearers were: Doug Wells, Larry De Yaegher, Bruce Montgomery, Rick Kinsley, Ron Lussier and Jack Beedie. Interment followed in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens beside his parents. Thank you to all of Robert's friends from Killarney who spent time over coffee and shared their wonderful stories. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Killarney Hospital and the Brandon Regional Health Centre for the care and compassion. Thank you also to Vern Schneider of Memories Chapel and Rev.
