GEORGE: The death of Robert Michael George, of Brandon, beloved husband of Ilene occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, June 19, 2008. The family will receive friends at a time of fellowship and visiting at the Army & Navy Air Force Veterans Hall, 31-14th Street on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 from 3:00 pm. to 5:00 pm. GEORGE: The death of Robert Michael "Bob" George, of Brandon, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, June 19, 2008. Bob was born at Neepawa, Manitoba on July 18, 1946, son of Russell and Muriel George. He received his education in Neepawa at Westpark Elementary and Neepawa Area Collegiate High School. He lived at the Neepawa Airport where his father was employed. He spent lots of time with aunts, uncles and cousins at family get togethers and camping. Bob joined the 12th Manitoba Dragoons Militia serving in Shilo and Neepawa. He later worked in Brandon at Western Motors, Modern Dairies, was an owner-operator with ABC Taxi and then with Tazz Taxi Company until his illness. Robert was a member of the Army & Navy Veterans of Canada for thirty-six years, serving on the executive board for a number of years. He enjoyed camping and fishing with family and especially the grandchildren. In earlier years he enjoyed water skiing, curling and bowling. Bob attended numerous demolition derbies and played many card games with family. He is survived by: his wife Ilene, daughter and son Lisa (Emery) and Derek. There are two grandchildren, Nevin and Bailey. He also leaves: brothers; Brian (Ann), Terry, David (Shirley), Ian (Sandi); brothers-in-law, Gerald (June) Cowan, Wayne (Mary); sisters-in-law, Gloria, Gladys (Tim) Ford, his mother-in-law Doris Cowan. There are many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by: his parents, Russell and Muriel George, son Jeffery and father-in-law Ernie Cowan. The graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 1:30 pm. The Rev. Laird Russell - Yearwood will officiate. Flowers are gratefully declined.
