Obituary

DENNIS: Robert Alexander "Rob" Dennis passed away on June 3, 1999 at the Assiniboine Centre, Brandon, MB. Robert was born at the Brandon General Hospital on November 18, 1919, son of John and Jane Dennis. He received all his education in Brandon schools which included Alexandra, Earl Haig Collegiate and then to Tech School. In 1941 he joined the army and was in the Artillery Service. Rob was then posted overseas in England until 1946, at which time he returned home and received his discharge. After returning home, Robert met Muriel Dunn and they were married on May 24, 1947. He worked for Ron Clark and Jack Denbow trucking. Rob then spent 23 1/2 years working with Anglo Canadian Oils and later in the warehouse for Gulf Oils. In 1972, he worked with Manitoba Hydro until his retirement in 1985. Rob was predeceased by his parents and a daughter, Joan. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Muriel; sons: Ron (Mary) of Newmarket, ON, Jim of Brandon, and daughter Marion (John) Calhoun of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Pamela, Michael and Jesse. Sisters, Georgina (Bill) Scribner of Brandon, and Catherine Dennis of Brandon; brother Jack (Audrey) of Winnipeg and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Service was held at Memories Chapel on Monday, June 7, 1999. Pallbearers were Sandy Sanderson, Jack Scribner, Donald Scribner, Kenny Holder, Brian Holder, and Doug Dennis. All attending the ceremony were considered as honorary pallbearers. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery. Arrangements were with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 727-0330.
