Obituary

TAGGART: Richard David James "Rick" Taggart went home to be with his Lord, suddenly on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at the Health Science Centre, Winnipeg. Rick was born on July 2, 1950 in Brandon, Manitoba, the son of Bob and Jean Taggart. He was a member of the Full Gospel Business Men in Brandon in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Rick started his first business, Taggart Painting, in 1972. From 1979 to 1983 he was the owner and operator of the Decorator Nook in Brandon. In 1982, he started working for insurance companies doing fire and water restoration and by 1989 had started "Taggart Painting and Restoration Ltd." Rick enjoyed the peace and tranquility at the lake from early spring until late fall. He had a very faithful and special friend in his black poodle, Toby. Rick was a very kind and generous person, respected by all. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Margaret; children, Randy (Bobbie Jo), David (Ana), Mark (Jennifer) and Meagan (Shayne) and a proud and loving grandpa to Mikaila and Logan. He is also survived by his sister, Lianne (Dale) Macauley and their children, Kristin and Jordan; his uncle, Bruce (June) Taggart of Brandon and aunts, Shirley and Dorothy Taggart, both of Calgary, AB. Rick was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents; brother, Randy (1976); mother, Jean (1985) and father, Bob (1994). The Ceremony to Celebrate Rick's Life was held at Bethel Christian Assembly on Monday, January 10, 2005. Pastor Len Smith officiated. Private interment took place at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined.
