LOCHHEAD: Richard Thomas "Tom" Lochhead, of Brandon, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Friday, October 26, 2007. Tom was born at Newdale, Manitoba on July 17, 1943. He lived on the home farm for 5 years before moving to British Columbia where he began his schooling in Burnaby, British Columbia. Tom returned to Manitoba after his father's death, he resided and continued his education in various small southwestern Manitoba communities, finally settling in Brandon in 1959. Tom graduated from Brandon Composite High School (now Neelin). Tom was in the first class of Electrical Construction at Brandon Vocation Training Center (now A.C.C.). Tom apprenticed with G.T. Smith and Sons (1961 - 1965) and worked on major construction projects until 1972. He then worked for Jamieson- Judd Ltd. from 1972 - 1995. At this time he took an early retirement. Tom was involved throughout his life with Scouts Canada, Block Parents, I.B.E.W. 2085, and James B. Chrisp United Commercial Travelers #448. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Donna; son, Ron (Leanne) and their children Logan Lochhead, Kaitlin and Eric Hamm; daughter, Wendy (Rob) McGowan and their children Kaitlyn and Kyle McGowan. Tom is also survived by one sister Wilma (Chris) Chrest and family as well as numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his Father Alex in 1950; mother Maud Mary (nee Creber) in 1990 and one brother Bobby. At Tom's request cremation has taken place. A graveside service was held at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium on Tuesday, October 30, 2007. Flowers are gratefully declined.
