Richard Hykawy, passed away with his wife and mother by his side on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB.

Richard was born on October 5, 1965, in North York, Ontario to parents Allan and Mildred. Richard attended high school at Vincent Massey and Crocus Plains High School. His pride and joy was the time he served in the Canadian Navy.

Richard had a wide range of interests that reflected his inquisitive and hands-on nature. He found joy in metal detecting, scuba diving, woodwork, and engine repair. His passion for shooting and firearms work showcased his keen attention to detail, and he enjoyed online gaming. Richard also shared a special bond with his beloved parrot, Tika, who was a constant and cherished companion.

Richard was predeceased by his father Allan; grandparents John & Carol Lebid, and Alec & Teeny Hykawy; and aunt and uncle Pat & Ron MacAulay.

Richard is survived by his mother Mildred; wife Valerie; children Richard and Angelica; and cousin Aaron MacAulay.

A private service to Celebrate Richard's Life took place at Memories Chapel, Brandon, MB on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. All family and friends can consider themselves honourary pallbearers. Richard was laid to rest at the Brandon Cemetery.
