Obituary

Raymond George Gladden passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2000 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre in his 85th year. Father was a strong willed man of character and wisdom, although not a man of many words. He had the strength and integrity to keep going until the end, always sending a message to be strong and not give up. It was from being resourceful that he and Mother lived on the family farm at Kelwood for 40 years while raising four children. They retired to Brandon and continued to work hard. Father spent many hours working with the Blue Bird Club. Raymond was predeceased by his wife, Emma of 47 years in 1995, a son Ronald in 1984, brothers Harry, Vincent, Jim and sister Agnes. Left to mourn are daughters; Linda (Merv) Mulligan, Gail (Doug) Blaine of Brandon, son Eric (Janet) Gladden of Kitimat, B.C., grandchildren Brenda (Roger) Potvin, Richard Gladden, Teresa Owens, Brent (Corrine) Blaine, Travis (Carolyn) Blaine, Ashley Gladden, Darren Gladden, Blaine (Lynne) Mulligan, great grandchildren; Danny, Jason, Taylor Emma Potvin, Bryson Owens, Cooper and Langley Ray Blaine. A daughter-in-law Norma (Rudy) Navid, and sister Eileen Saunders also survive. The Funeral Ceremony was held at St. John's Anglican Church, Kelwood, Manitoba on Saturday, November 18, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dorrie Flook officiated. Interment followed at Kelwood Cemetery. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Mr. Gladden to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 203 - 42 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB R7A 2B2.
