DEMERIA: The sudden passing of Raymond Alfred Demeria, beloved husband of Lucille, and loving father to Troy and Eliza, occurred in the city on August 16, 2006. Raymond was born November 18, 1947 on Tootinaowaziibeeng Reserve, Manitoba to Henry and Verna Demeria, one of four boys and six girls. He attended Gilbert School till Grade 8. At the age of 12, Raymond began his life on his own. In his lifetime he received his Masters and Bachelor Degree in Sociology and Psychology by correspondence and also completed a course as an Electrical Technician. Raymond was a "Jack of all trades" working in diamond drilling, oilrigs, bush and lumber jobs, painting and renovations. He worked as an electrician, plumber, mechanic, truck driver, and in the rodeo as a rider. Raymond was an avid camper, fisherman, and hunter. He enjoyed painting, beading, sketching, woodcarving and leatherwork. He loved going for long drives, showing them the beauty of God's country, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His greatest testimony in life was becoming the man who loved God, his wife, children, grandchildren and friends, and doing all that life lay before him never complaining. His love was unconditional, just like the word of God taught. Ray was a loving attentive husband and a wonderful father, grandfather and a friend. Raymond is predeceased by his father Henry; brothers Peter and Richard and sister Dorothy. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Lucille; son Troy (Amber); daughter Eliza (Mike); grandchildren Brenden, April, Kaydence, and Matthew. Raymond is also survived by his mother Verna Demeria; brother Pastor Henry (Alice) Demeria; sisters Gertrude, Darlene, Marilyn, Alma and Louise; many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service was held at Bethel Christian Assembly on Tuesday, August 22, 2006. Pastor Mike Davis officiated. Pallbearers were Troy Bone, Ralph DeMare, Edwin Darling, Martin Pachal, Barry Ironstand, and Fred Pachal.
