Obituary

BURNS: The death of Raymond Burns occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, August 16, 2007. A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 3:00 pm. Complete obituary information will follow. Flowers are gratefully declined. BURNS: Raymond Lloyd Burns passed away at the Assiniboine Centre, Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at the age of 49 years. Ray was born in Brandon on May 19, 1958, son of Robert and Evelyn Burns. He made many special friends through his work at C.N. Rail for the past 30 years. Ray was an avid bowler with ten pin leagues. His team- mates became his closest friends. Their participation took them on many trips, where they won many trophies. As a golfer, Ray scored several hole in one shots and on one occasion this won him a trip to Knoxville Tennessee. Ray loved gardening, something he enjoyed until he was hospitalized due to his illness. Ray will be lovingly remembered by his dad, Robert "Bob" Burns, step mother, Alleen of Brandon He also leaves a sister, Bonnie (Norman) Shallcross, niece, Tammy (Don) Hulsmans and their daughter, Kyria. He also leaves a brother, Robbie (Terry) Burns of Justice, Tory (Dawn), Tera (Duane), Russell (Cynthia), Christina and their families, a sister-in-law, Lil Gray and niece, Jackie (Rob) Sucharyna and their son Brendan. Extended family includes, aunt and uncle, Sadie and Earl Gray of Calgary, several cousins and Alleen's family, John, Mary, Verna, Paul (Karen) and families, Ray was predeceased by his mother, Evelyn and a brother, Doug Gray. A graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 3:00 pm. Flowers are gratefully declined.
