WALL: Peter Wall was born March 15, 1910 in Petrowka, near Slawjansk, Ukraine. His parents were Franz and Maria Wall (nee Falk). Peter's father passed away when Peter was eleven years old. He lived in Petrowka until 1930. He and his siblings left the place of his birth and lived in various places in the Ukraine. In 1937 Peter was married to Tanya Kotowcowa. Their marriage was blessed by the birth of a son, Tony in 1938. The Wall family left the Ukraine in 1943. In 1946 they came to Germany. They emigrated to Canada in 1949 and arrived in Boissevain, Manitoba, where they were hosted by Abe and Ellie Neufeld. Both Peter and Tanya found work in Boissevain and were employed till 1976. In 1977 they moved to Brandon where they resided since then. On May 28, 1950 Peter and Tanya upon their confession of faith in Jesus Christ were baptized by Reverend G. G. Neufeld, and they were received into the membership of the Whitewater Mennonite Church. After their move to Brandon they became members of Grace Mennonite Church. Peter's employment included being a bookkeeper in Russia; a clothing supplier in Czechoslovakia for 2 years; then worked as a labourer in a hospital in Germany for 2 years. He then worked 26 years at Dring Brothers in Bossevain until retirement. Peter's hobbies included watching sports, politics. His favorite past time was going fishing which he did right up until last summer, and enjoyed being a handyman at home. After being hospitalized for three months, Peter passed away peacefully at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon on February 23, 2000. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife Tanya; son Tony & wife Coleen Wall; granddaughters Sandra and Teresa; great-granddaughters Chellsey and Bailey Kutyn. Peter was predeceased by his parents; three brothers; a sister and grandson Robert. He will be fondly remembered by those who loved him. A time of visitation for family and friends was held on Monday, February 28, 2000 at Grace Mennonite Church from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm with the funeral service beginning at 2:30 pm. Pastor Henry Patkau and Pastor George Derksen officiated. Interment followed in Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
