KLIPPENSTINE: With sorrow we announce the passing of Peter (Pete) Bernhard Klippenstine on May 8, 2004 at his residence, Fairview Home. His courage, strength and optimism throughout his life were an inspiration to his family. His memory will be cherished by his children: Albert (Eleanor), Peter (Brenda), Ernie (LeEllen), Irene (Ben); grandsons, Jody (Megan), Cory (Dee), Kent (Mary Ellen), Richard (Myrna), Ryan, Jeff and great grandchildren, Benjamin and Katherine. He is also survived by, his brother John. Dad was predeceased by his wife Katie and by brothers, Bernhard, Frank, Cornie, Henry and by sisters, Katherine and Mary. Pete was born in Russia on January 8, 1912 and came to Canada with his family in 1924. They settled in Saskatchewan. In 1937, Pete moved to Manitoba, where he met his wife Katie. After their marriage in 1939, they farmed in the Oak Lake area until their retirement to Brandon in 1973. The funeral service will be held at the Grace Mennonite Church, 951-10th Street, Brandon on Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 2:00 pm. Rev. George Derksen will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brandon cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends and family who wish may make a donation in memory of Pete to Cancer Care Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Stn.
