Brent Bartel passed away on Thursday, May 6, 1999 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Brent was born at Gladstone, Manitoba on April 25, 1960. He received his schooling at the Little Souris School and then in earlier years worked as a laborer in various jobs. In 1989, he began his career with Brandon Crane and Equiipment rentals and until his death took great pride and enjoyment in every minute of his work. Brent was a member of the Westman Stock Car Club. He enjoyed Nascar Racing, the stock car club, riding his quad, his computer, snowmobiling and hunting. He especially enjoyed going for coffee with his friends. Brent is survived by his friend Carol Dyck, daughter Melissa Dyck( Richard Roulette), granddaughter Taylor Dyck, mother Marlene Gorzen and brothers, Brad (Kelly) Bartel and Barry (Pam) Bartel. He was predeceased by his father, Abe Bartel and his step-father George Gorzen. The funeral service was held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Monday (today), May 10, 1999 with Rev. John Nesbitt officiating. Interment followed in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
